Passwords/Generic Logon

Occasionally students take UWEC online courses but are registered at other campuses (through consortial programs such as the online MBA or the Collaborative Nursing Program). These students do not have UWEC accounts but still need access to UWEC databases. To accommodate these students, a generic logon is developed each semester

• Systems Librarian sets up the generic use account and notifies the DE librarian

• The DE librarian sends the generic logon to reference staff.

• It is preferred that the generic logon be distributed to instructors rather than directly to students to ensure that only currently enrolled students receive it.

• The current password can be found in the Passwords folder of the reference email inbox.
